Who is eligible to participate?

Any student in grades K – 12 can submit artwork.

Are students who are home-schooled allowed to participate?

Yes.

Are there geographic limits on participation?

No.

Will the artists be acknowledged during the banquet?

Yes! We ask the artists to submit a headshot to brotherhoodbanquet@bcamecy.org. The photo will be shown during the banquet.

By submitting a photo, you grant us the the right to use the image during the banquet celebration and banquet video recording without any obligation to compensate you.

Are submissions limited to those affiliated with the Brown Chapel AME Church?

No, it is not limited. It is open to all K-12 students.

What is the deadline for submission?

Submissions are due by April 13, 2025. They can be brought to Brown Chapel on Saturday, April 12 between 1:00 – 3:00 pm. or Sunday, April 13 between 12:00 – 2:00 pm.

How will the art be selected for display?

All of the submitted work will be displayed. Pre-cut picture frames will be provided at drop-off.

What information or forms must be submitted?

Forms (provided at drop-off) will include: contact information sheet, artwork title and release form.

What are the size requirements for the artwork?

Preferred paper or canvas sizes are: 8” x 12” or 8” x 11 ½”

Jewelry, textiles, ceramics, lego, etc. must be able to fit on a 8” x 12” pedestal.

Will every artist receive a certificate?

Yes, all artists will receive a certificate of participation.

Can more than one art project be submitted?

Only one work of art per person can be submitted.

Can artists attend the Brotherhood Banquet?

Artists can attend the Banquet, but complimentary tickets are not available.

Will artwork be returned to the artist?

Yes. Artwork can be picked up from Brown Chapel on Sunday May 4 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Artwork If artwork must be picked up at a different time, please contact. Janice Austin at (248) 859-4627
